Paia Fish Market

I’m so glad we decided to stop by here for our last meal in Maui. It was Sunday night around 6:30 and line was out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. Once we ordered we got our food pretty quick too. We had fish and chips and salad with grilled Ono. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful. Salad with papaya dressing was delicious. Good portions and cannot beat the prices either. Quick drive to/from the airport.

We heard about this place and though there are a lot of options in this area, the recommendations were right. While there was a line, it moved steady. The staff were flexible in allowing me to get only shrimp on my salad. I thought they might be tiny shrimp but they were a good size and So Good! Hubby and his mom loved their food too. Highly recommend!

This place is just YUM. With multiple locations across the island, you’re bound to come across a Paia Fish Market, and I highly recommend you to step in and grab a bite.nnTheir fish and chips are out of this world good. Perfect crisp and so incredibly fresh.nnTheir fish tacos are also delicious! They’re a lot bigger and filling than you may think, so two tacos is perfect for the average person. I love the melted cheese on the bottom and the sauce topping. Beware: this one is a messy eat but it’s worth all the taco spillage!nnBe prepared for a wait time on busy times!

I’m not a big fish guy but felt I had to stop here after the road to Hana. Very clean restaurant and the fish and chips were pretty good! The portions were large as well. The staff was very friendly and courteous despite the busy dinner rush.nnSocial distancing here could improve but I feel like they’re doing their best since this seems to be a popular spot. 5 stars if they can figure out a better way to social distance.

I think I said, “that was the best meal I’ve ever had”. I got the fish burger which was so decadent: a huge piece of awesome fish just swimming in coleslaw. So good.nnAlso, the calamari was served in thick fried pieces, like calamari fish sticks rather then little fried tube-rings that are mostly batter. But I’m from the Midwest so my standards may be very low.
