It was so much fun to get to stay here in Hana and especially to stay in these cabins! We did have to bring our own sheets (they have 6 twin bunk beds) as well as our own kitchenware and towels. I think this was all due to covid but we didn’t mind. We didn’t end up cooking in the cabins though they did have a grill outside, a hot plate, microwave, and refrigerator inside. The cabins are super spacious. We originally wanted to camp but their tent camping is closed right now, but we’re so thankful we ended up in the cabins. They do have their own coded entrance, so no check in or keys necessary, you get all the information ahead of time and don’t need to interact with people.

The cabins were way roomier and much nicer than expected. Electricity, plenty outlets, a small hot plate type stove, nice lanai with a decent bench that seats 5-6. Remember to bring some bug repellent like mosquito coils, and also some fans if you go in the summer. I got data and internet easily there. Excellent spot for camping, just gotta be quick on booking the days you want as they fill up fast, even thirty days out.

Wai’anapanapa State Park is situated off the Hana Highway (Road to Hana). Many visitors drive the iconic Road to Hana - in and out - in a single day. We selected this accommodation so we could enjoy the remote, volcanic coastline and extend our Road to Hana journey over multiple days. The cabins sleep up to 6 people and consist of a kitchen-living room with bunk beds, a bedroom with two sets of bunk-beds, and a bathroom with hot water and flush toilet. The kitchen has a refrigerator, hot plate, and microwave. A large deck with picnic table is also attached to the kitchen. There is no air-conditioning. The cabins are an affordable option, especially for larger groups, but note that they do NOT include linens (bedding or towels), cooking and eating utensils, or dishes.
