ʻOheʻo Gulch

This is a must visit spot in your Road to Hana trip. Most likely this will be your last stop unless you are doing the Road to Hana loop drive. Its inside Haleakala National park and you have a small fee to pay if you want to visit this place. Good thing about this is if you have paid here you can visit the Haleakala summit for a sunrise or sunset within 3 days of visiting this spot or vice versa.nnIt has a small trail of about 1 mile round trip to see the Gulch and the 7 pools. The view is breathtaking.

Definitely a must visit spot in road to Hana. The place closes at 5 PM, so make sure the trip is planned to accommodate this place. The trail is about 10 miles and definitely worth a visit if there is time!

It was late when we got here. The water at the bottom was brown and it wasn't a decent scenery. Hopefully next time the water will be clear but the rest of the 7 ponds was running and clear.

The pools are closed due to bacteria, which is understandable, but the park has left no good way to view the pools. The lookout trail and points have too much underbrush to view the gulch. I wish we were allowed to descend to the pools to look without entering the water.
