I love Tacos El Rey! Great, cheap, authentic Mexican food. Awesome salsas and sauces too. I've never had a bad dish here. While there are tables to sit at, think of it more as a food truck with indoor dining. There are no servers, no chips and salsa unless you order it. It's not the generic Americanized, over cheesy, bland Mexican food like most restaurants around here. It's actually really good.

The best chicken tacos and shrimp tostadas! The staff is friendly and wonderful to me every time I visit from Utah. I sometimes drive 5 hours JUST to eat at this restaurant. It’s affordable and DELICIOUS! All of the food is homemade and so yummy. The chicken tacos are my favorite, with the avocado sauce!! ud83eudd24

Historically the best place in town to grab a delicious authentic plate. On our last visit however, we were disappointed by a few things. The food is still great. But no one was wearing masks. Why on earth not??? The other big thing was waiting for our order. During the lunch hour, I ordered a serving of rice and beans, 1 quesadilla, 1 enchilada plate, and 3 tacos. I waited 20-25 minutes in the front dining room, while individuals walked in, ordered, and were served within about 5 minutes each. They were local working men, very regular customers I'm sure, but it was disheartening to be waiting that long and to see them walk out ahead of me one by one. The staff are tense and unsmiling nowadays, and that was hard to see, as well. But the biggest thing was the masks. To me, as a business, they have foregone an essential opportunity to take the lead and set a good example for others in the community (not to mention, how do I, or they, know none of the staff carry Covid?). My trust in them is shaken. I will learn how to make their great food at home instead of going out... :(
