The Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge is not to be confused with Bear Lake. Several reviews here are for the lake and not the refuge. The entrance to the refuge is located approximately 7.5 miles north of the north beach of Bear Lake and 2.5 miles east of Paris, ID. The refuge is home to over 150 bird species, deer, moose, reptiles and many small mammals. The area is great for viewing large groups of migratory birds in the spring and fall and a fun place to put in a canoe or kayak throughout the summer. Check the park website for seasonal migrations and nesting times. See my photos from a visit in May of 2018.
