So friendly, very quiet and CLEAN! You can tell they take pride in their work. The bathrooms were cleaned daily. We stayed 3 nights in a tent. We liked listening to the coyotes at night. Our only issue was no shower. You can go behind the bathrooms and find hot water to wash dishes (and your hair). Def stay here again!
Best campground in the Tucson area for sunsets.nTent sites are $10. Sites B1 - B3 are the best for tents.nNo showers but bathrooms have water and are clean. Behind the bathrooms are large outdoor sinks with overhead spray arm that you can use as a shower.nFull recycling program.nOffice staff is very helpful and positive.nThe Brown Mountain trail is a moderate hike.nThe trail map needs to be updated using GIS platforms.nDuring the snowbirds season you get a more + set of campers here than at Catalina SP.nNeed to reserve online now. The trouble is when I was there this November they had signs stating if someone is in your spot picknanother one. Why reserve online then? If I reserve one of the best tent sites B1 - B3 and someone else is there why should I be forced to go to a gravel RV site? It makes no sense. The campground host needs to step up.
This place is absolutely stunning! Right in the middle of desert surrounded by cactus and creatures... not to many! We loved our stay in the first come first serve where you can book up to 7 days otherwise for reservations they need to be a couple days in advance.
The sites are very spacious. You can make reservations in all of the loops except H, which is first come first served. The best days to get a spot in H loop are Mon-Wed and you can call to check before you come (or come right after 11am, which is checkout time). There is only electric connections say the sites, but there are water spickets everywhere and a dump station in the campground.
We loved this place. Very clean and quiet. I love the fact they have no lights at night so the animals are thought of 1st. Several parks are going to night sky’s to help the nocturnal animals. I love it because it better for star gazing
