Orilla Verde Recreation Area

If you want to go somewhere that isn't exactly the mountains but still some amazing views and is a cool drive. This was the place. Not much wildlife besides the usual chipmunks and birds. But did see some mule deer up on the top of the gorge. Great place to camp and there are multiple hikes within walkable range. Don't forget your fishing gear. Many gorgeous fishing spots on the river. Bring cash because there are the day and overnight fees. Yes the ranger did come around checking.

Just love the canyon and river. Any time of years it's a great experience and fantastic camping. Go there!

I never knew this area existed until my last trip up that way. I went during the fall color change and it was nice. Didn't catch any fish but wasn't really geared up for the area. Cleaner than most fishing areas.
