Didnt actually get to dine in, coz there were no reservations available but ordered takeout to the room. Both the smash burger and the trout that we got was good, and the onion rings were great!

Just not worth the price. The ribeye was very tender, well prepared and tastey, but way way way overpriced. If you can ask for the waiter, Efe. He is great. Our waitress was awful.nnNext time we'll just go to the garden and bar restaurants.nnThe resort is wonderful, though.

The look of it is beautiful, a wonderful atmosphere, but terrible service. We ordered quick after being seated, but took 1hour 15 min. before getting our food. Took 30 min and asking a waiter if we could get some bread rolls and refills on water. Finally got some brown and serve rolls that were nearing burnt. Our food came, Elk was overcooked, potatoes undercooked. My plate of ribs among other plates in the party was lukewarm at best & blandly seasoned side of polenta. Certainly not the quality you'd expect for $30-45 entrées. Disappointed.

It was good, not great. I had two breakfasts there.

This restaurant is fantastic, breakfast is amazing, opted for an adapted smoked trout eggs benedict one morning (GF potato cake for muffin) and a massive breakfast burrito to-go for our ski day. This burrito must have been nearly 1lb, I had the one with carne adovada and felt energized the whole day, enough so that I skipped $12 lodge chili at the ski resort and charged hard up until the lifts closed. Food comes up quick, never had to wait more than 10 minutes for each course for all meal periods. Staff is on point and was super informative, particularly about Taos Ski Valley itself, we could have made several lift flow errors at TSV but we went as if we had been going for 20 years since Cameron our breakfast server knew all the local details. There are a few negative reviews dragging this restaurant down but one is from a person who may be a timeframe exaggerator and also refers to bread or rolls as bread rolls. The other is most likely unfamiliar with a ribeye. The character of these two negative reviewers should definitely be questioned. My wife and I ate all but one meal at De La Tierra during our stay due to the convenience, reasonable price, and quality. We never felt the need to go anywhere else, De La Tierra makes El Monte Sagrado a true Taos oasis.
