Old Hundred Gold Mine Tour

This was a pretty awesome tour and demonstration. You take a train about a third of a mile into the mountain, there are 7 levels of tunnels above you. My tour guide was an actual miner, demonstrates several of the tools used in the mining process, they are loud! The tour takes about an hour, very informative and answers any question. The panning was a little underwhelming as there wasn't any gold in the dirt. Overall though, well worth the $24 admission plus a tip for the guide.

Great chance to see a real gold mine and the equipment and how it worked. The tours are given by former miners, who demonstrate the equipment and talk about what it was like to work in a mine. The tour starts with 1500 foot horizontal ride into the mine on an old electric mine train. There is a gold panning area provided outside, restrooms and a small gift shop. Sanitized hard hats are provided, but due to Covid you should bring your own coats or jackets as the mine is 47 degrees and drippy in spots. Very refreshing on hot day! The tours last about 45-60 minutes.

We have done this tour 3 or 4 times. What fun to see this historical site and step back in time. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing tour! We showed up for their last tour of the day and it was just three of us and they still took us on the tour. Trent was an amazing guide and was very knowledgeable. He made the tour fun and being that it was just 3 of us it felt very personal!

By far the best mine tour we have ever done. Our tour guide is generational miner. To hear his stories and the stories of his family was incredible. This tour was so fun and so informational. Our boys loved the panning for gold and silver and we even have some of both that we got to being home with us. The panning is included with the price. I will and would recommend this tour to anyone I know that is visiting the area!
