I was visiting Gunnison for a month, and I paid for a month-long membership. As a family medicine physician currently doing a sports medicine fellowship, having a background in college wrestling, and having done CrossFit for a few years myself, I was very impressed with Nate and Christy (the owners and coaches). They are very knowledge, attentive to safety and form before scores and weights, create a safe learning and fitness environment where ego is checked at the door, and bring energetic enthusiasm to each class (even at 6 a.m.). There is a wide range of athletes in the gym, from men and women in their 60's and 70's keeping themselves moving and healthy, to mom's and dad's living an example of healthy lifestyles for their children, to newcomers, to veterans with regional-level aspirations (when CrossFit still had Regionals).nnIf you are around Gunnison and are looking to drop in, join the gym, or are just curious about CrossFit, I highly recommend CrossFit Gunnison. You will have the chance to learn from true experts in the field of movement and fitness in a safe and welcoming environment that will challenge you to reach new levels in your health and fitness journey.
