Lovely place to learn about horticulture from around the world. Interesting butterflies and birds, parts of the park feel like your in another country. Please donate and keep this garden beautiful.nnThey also sell flowers and plants at reasonable prices. Great place for families with kids of all ages, no dogs allowed.
If you are a resident of San Francisco, be sure to bring your ID to get into the Botanical Gardens for free. On the surface, it looks like much of Golden Gate Park, with grassy lawns and landscaped areas, but look closer and most of the plants have labels! Great way to try to learn a few plant names while going for a walk.
Beautiful, stunning, diverse. My fiance and I went early this past Saturday morning and it was such an amazing experience. Lots of open space to relax, walk, have a picnic or check things out. One of my favorite places to go in golden gate park for sure
Even on a rainy day (yes there are rainy days in San Francisco) these gardens do not disappoint! We especially loved the Succulent Garden, and walking the intimate Redwood Glade where there is lots of seating.nMarch looks like a great time to catch just the end of the magnolia blooms AND the start for Azaleas and Rhododendron. The native California plants are just waking from Winter and will soon be in Bloom!nFree to San Francisco residents (show your ID) or a $9 adult donation.
Always lovely place to go and relax and seek a little quiet. Somewhat busy in these days of the pandemic but for the most part people were respectful and kept their distance though there's always the odd group who feel the rules don't apply to them. Thank goodness there's enough space to avoid people like that.nnThe San Francisco Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place and needs to be supported.
