The wave organ is a well kept secret. Most people have never heard of it, let alone having visited. It’s a cool spot to hit up and is certainly an ode to the artist community that once thrived in the city of San Francisco.nnPro tip: for the best experience, after exploring the area sit on the ‘bench’ type seating. Besides a nice view you also get a surround sound type effect.

Very unique art sculpture which creates sounds made by waves hitting the organ pipes. Great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge!nnPark at the Wave Organ parking lot area next to the Yacht Club and walk past the Yacht club to get to the Wave Organ area.

A small little detour to see an installation. From here you can see the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and Alcatraz on the other. There are little pipes spaced all throughout the installation where you can tune into the sounds of the water. They didn't seem to work today but I know on other occasions I've heard them. The piece is sort of small but definitely something to view once at least.

I had visit the Wave Organ on December 29/2020.nIt’s located on the northern shore of San Francisco.nIt’s no parking fee, clean bathroom, shower room.nThis location gives out spectacular views of Golden Gate Bridge, very clear picturesque of Alcatraz island, and skyline of San Francisco.nThere’s also a yacht club, harbor, and a little cutie lighthouse.nit has few benches, and a lot of pipes.nThose pipes have different sizes and different lengths, so they can make a difference sounds when the waves hit them.nThis is the place either HIT or MISS situation, since it depends a lot on the tide.nYou can see the Wave Organ anytime but it’s better to come at high tide when you can hear the music better.nMy question is what Peter Richards and his crew were using to build Wave Organ?nAnother one of San Francisco’s creative minds.

The pictures look better than the experience. It's an interesting night walk though.
