There is a small parking area on the South side with pit toilets and a trailhead that follows the East Fork Carson River toward the Nevada State line. The bridge is a popular put in spot for rafters. Fishing downstream of the bridge is catch and release only, but there are some pretty nice swimming/fishing holes.nnThe bridge is named for being the site where a man accused of murder in the 1870s was caught up to and hanged by a group of vigilantes on his way to Mono County, where he was to stand trial.

Did a little fishing. Was tons of fun.

For a bridge, it doesn't get much better. Like most bridges, this one allows you to cross the river. It also affords good river access to run the East Fork of the Carson River. A nearby pit toilet is also a welcome infrastructure. It can be said that you don't see a bridge like this everyday. That is true because I visit this bridge about once a year on raft trips. If you have an opportunity to visit Hangman's Bridge, by all means do it. It's a great place for a hanging or just hanging out.

This is the demarcation line on the East Fork Carson River for the Trophy fishing area and bait fishing area. There is a parking area and pit toilets. The area downstream of the bridge is the catch and release part of the river and upstream of the bridge is bait fishing. Great place to go fishing!

Great one day or overnight trip. Make sure water levels are 800 cfs at least otherwise make sure it's a small boat
