City of Lake Tahoe Campground

Quite nice campground. It's open in April, when all of the state parks are closed, which is a plus. Sites are not private, but they are fairly large. Somehow the connections on the backing site were on the wrong side, but that's not a big problem. Some noise from the road is heard, but not too bad. Dump station is there too.

When I visited here in September, only RVs were allowed to visit because both toilets and showers were closed due to COVID-19. The campfire and grills were also prohibited to use due to fire prevention. As for the location, everything is in walking distance, such as kayaking and SUP rental at El Dorado Beach, and very tasty Sprouts Café. You can rent a four-seater bicycle at Tahoe Bike Company. Lime scooters are available to use. Beware there were a lot of ant nests when I visited the campground.

Horrible. Way over priced. 100$1 night bumpy dirt camp spot. Big but all play areas closed, seems very run down. Pool closed. Not very pretty,diesnt seem kept up nice. We've camped alot, should've have only beene maybe 35,40$ a night standard hookup. Wont be back.

Normally I would give this a much better rating, but this year I haven't arrived yet and was informed that my camp site has been changed. Family and close friends make our reservations a year in advance expecting to be in a close proximity to each other.nSome of us travel thousands of miles to attend this each year. But do to someone's decision to change everyone's camp spots we will now be packed into a closer proximity to strangers we do not know and leaving the camp sites we had reserved vacant.nOh, and we weren't informed by the camp ground of the changes but by one of our family members who called us while we were on the road and almost there.nWe will see how it goes but not a happy camper at this time.

Amazing week every year we come. But especially this year. Corona gave us almost an empty campground.
