I was looking for a specific pair of shoes as a gift for a friend. Because the style was so popular, it took me calling four different Vans stores and three or four different Zumiez stores. My final call was to this Zumiez location. When I asked about stock levels for that style in a specific size, the employee on the phone assured me that it was in stock. He double and triple checked the size I was looking for to be absolutely sure they had it. He told me it was set aside with my name on it. I drove 40 minutes the next day to purchase them and was told there was only one pair but not in the size I was looking for. It had also never been set aside like I was told. The manager working that day didn’t seem to care that her associate had made such a big mistake that also took 1hr 20min out of my day for absolutely nothing. She called the associate and asked if he remembered and he claimed I asked for a different size even though we had both repeated the size back to each other multiple times over the phone.
