The Hollander On Main

I recently chose to go to the Hollander on Main for a special family dinner that included my daughter's fiance, because of the ambiance of the restaurant and the good food. The ambiance and food we ate were still good, but the experience during and after the dinner was quite disappointing. The meals that my daughter and her fiance received were not as they were described in the menu. In one case, it was simply the absence of gold beets from the beet salad, and not being told that there were no gold beets available. In the other case, the Valentino Chicken Caprese received did not come close to the menu description. The server attempted to reconcile the differences, but was not able to, and told us we would need to talk to the manager to see if we could get what it was supposed to be. We said that was fine, but had to wait for such a long time before the manager came to our table, that the rest of us had eaten most of our meals by the time she arrived. The manager asserted that the entree received was the one in the menu, even though it differed in practically every aspect. She did agree not to charge us for that meal, but NEVER offered to either bring the entree as described in the menu, or any other entree as a replacement. My daughter's fiance ended up having my son's leftover french fries and my wife's third pulled pork slider for something to eat. The waitress did offer free ice cream to my daughter's fiance, but we were ready to leave by then (and had planned to go for ice cream at Dairy Queen later). On top of that, when my daughter posted a review based on my encouragement, because of the manager taking so long to see about our problem and also not offering to replace the meal, the response she received was that the manager did offer a replacement meal, the staff had done all they could otherwise, but they would check the menu description. Good food + good ambiance + bad customer relations = one family lost as customers.

First time here and it was amazing! Food was excellent...ice cream was delicious...and the atmosphere was awesome! We will definitely be back!

I recently visited The Hollander with three friends and our experience was not very good. We waited for ten minutes after being seated and no one came to our table. We finally had to seek out a server and ask her to take our order. There was only two other tables occupied so the delay was not because they were busy. I ordered the special which was meatloaf and mashed potatoes and the taste was good but my food was cold. I asked our server to reheat and explained it was cold. She took my food and brought it back several minutes later and it was still cold. Our server did not come back to check on us but she did remove the meatloaf from my bill because she saw I did not eat it. This is my third time to visit this restaurant and the service was poor on all three occasions. The only reason I gave two stars was because of the ambiance. I will not be returning for a fourth visit.

Had a great experience, the patio was so amazing and the server was great and very passionate about the restaurant could really tell she loved her job and that showed in her service! The food was great and a very great price can't wait to go back and will be asking for the server again!

Beautiful restaurant and great service. The food was good but a little pricey. I enjoyed the live music.
