Recently Mark helped my family do four years of tax returns and he is a pleasure to work with. (Especially since we had a not-so-great experience somewhere else.) He finished the work quickly and did a great job. I found the bill to be very reasonable. I highly recommend him.

Let me first say, we have used Mark for our taxes the last three years and things were fine. Hence the two stars and not one. This year was where things changed, in preparation for the upcoming tax season, we got a tax preparation packet for another family in an envelope addressed to us. I immediately returned the packet to Mark and asked if someone else had my personal information. He made it sound as if me getting someone else's personal info was no big deal and these things happen. When I again expressed my concern over some other family having my info, he responded with most of my clients are wealthy and would not do anything with my information if they had it.nOnce he had prepared our taxes for this year, my wife and I went to his office to pay for the work and ask some questions in order to put us in a better tax situation next year. He did not allow us to finish our question and began to raise his voice and said I am not your Human Resources Dept. I was not questioning the work he did or our current situation merely how to avoid owing in the future and trying to get some suggestions. He simply said do the math and at some point in his rant it turned personal and he called me stupid. At that point, I simply said okay we are done, signed the paperwork and let him know I would not be back next year. His response: fine with me I got 70 new clients this year.nAll I can say is I have never been treated so poorly by someone who is supposed to be a licensed professional. If professionalism and customer service matters to you I would not recommend this business.

I met Mark Stanhope back in 2008 when our taxes got more complicated than a simple return. He was highly recommended by some friends and after meeting with him and discussing that particular tax year we never looked back. He has always been a complete professional and over all these years I've never found fault with his level of knowledge and experience. He's gone out of his way over the years to keep up with the changes in our lives as they affect our business and tax situation and has consistently offered excellent advice when asked. Even after moving out to the West Coast we continued to use him with the same outstanding results and I couldn't recommend him more as a tax professional and financial advisor.
