Moose Hillock Camping Resort-NY

Great place to stay with huge sites and tons of privacy. Very friendly staff and a very clean facility with great amenities. They have a wonderful pool although it was closed while there but we will be back. Plenty of things to do in town and shopping outlets near by. Will be back to this well run campground.

Fantastic RV resort. Spacious and private sites. Most have very easy access for large trailers/Class As. Pool is the best I've seen at any campground. Very clean, well maintained and surprisingly quiet for being almost full. Helpful to have a golf cart or bike to get around, its a huge place. Office staff is friendly and helpful. This is my new favorite weekend getaway. Alot of good restaurants within a few miles, as well as Lake George outlet shops and downtown.

To begin our trip at Moose Hillock, after driving 6 hrs with kids and a camper, we were told we would be charged $45 for being 10-15 minutes early for check in. Or we would have to leave the property for 10-15 minutes. Not a great start to a vacation. We chose Moose Hillock to have a safe, spacious vacation during this covid pandemic. The space of the sites was really nice, the fire pit was very cool with the rocks. However, the pool was not limited on amounts of people, kids were not spaced while waiting for the slides (by neither markers on ground or the staff sitting at the slides). We saw many people not wearing masks in the store or arcade, including the staff. We have been to other campgrounds who’s restrictions were much safer. The pool is really big and cool, kids loved that, but we had to limit our pool time to the morning because of how crowded it would get. They had some activities for kids, however some cost even more money. Laundry was $20 in quarters for 3 loads which was inconvenient. The app they use for credit cards would not work, and the staff informed us they can not help with the app. Also had to have quarters to use the showers! The golf carts were very nice, and well kept, and the staff was always working on trying to keep the roads smooth after rain. I do not think we would return to Moose Hillock after having been to other campgrounds around Lake George with much more to do for the same price that did not nickel and dime for everything.

DO NOT try to arrive after dark. The place doesn't have and area lighting. Kids are running and having a good time but you cant see anything because the area is so dark. The sites are nice. The water area is where all the money goes but it won't entertain a 13yr old for long. The slides are more for the younger kids. The older kids will try to play basketball until it gets dark because once again No AREA lighting. The bathroom / showers leave much to be desired. Roads are a bit rocky but I get it adds to the rustic part of it. They will also hand you 2 pages of rules ( that's how you know you're in NY ) Its a giant list of things you can't do. Don't try to ride your bicycle out of the park, its listed as breaking a NY-DOT law. Staff were helpful.

This campground is hands down the best campground we have ever been to. It is quality over quantity. The spots are so spacious you don't feel like you're in a parking lot like most campgrounds. Now to speak of the owners and their staff.....They absolutely know how to run a business. Super friendly and helpful. They have their rules but they are not on top of you just be respectful and you will have a great time. I would recommend this campground for a long weekend or a week you will not be disappointed.
