Today, the wind, clouds and air was not giving us a thumbs up to go for nature walk. But, seeing that some of us were riveted to the last days of TRUMP on news cycle..I had to go to the nature trail. If you have extra food to give ducks have fun. Then the trail itself is so well maintained it makes it more inviting. There is still a slice of heaven

Love to go and clear my mind. Soak in all the beauty of mother nature!!!. It has come along way since I was a little kid. Thank you to everyone who has made it a better place over time.

A beautiful and scenic canal trail. A restored former canal store is on site and has been converted into a small museum about life on and along the canal. Former canal boats and equipment used on the canal is on display outside, including portions of the former wood locks. A covered building used for picnics or gatherings is available. There are nature trails off the canal trail and small docks / landings that can be used for fishing or small boat launching. There are numerous seats and benches along the trail dedicated to love ones. Some are covered to keep you out of the rain or sun. A mile down the trail, the canal goes over Nine Mile Creek across a restored, arched aqueduct. Very impressive engineering all done by hand. The only drawback is you hear a lot of traffic from the neighboring highway. But with the beauty of the area, you generally don't focus on it. The trail is level and the site has ample parking most days. Well worth visiting.

I just love it here. It's a beautiful spot to take a nice long walk.
