St. Mark's Lutheran Preschool

My family was new not only to the Rochester area but to the state of New York. As such we were not prepared for the comparatively outrageous costs of child care here. The first place we looked at was a daycare that set its annual tuition at $27,000 (we could send a kid to college for that). We had just about given up hope of finding a place for our 3-year-old daughter when a relative forwarded us some information about St. Marks Preschool. Not only did they have the most flexible hours of enrollment out of anything we saw but it was at a very very reasonable cost. You could enroll however many days a week you wanted and choose between mornings, afternoons, or full days that extended to 6:00 PM. We enrolled for 5 days a week and had no problems with either the application or admission. We were able to start immediately. We are not Lutheran but that was not a problem, they are welcoming to all and are sensitive to the family's beliefs. As to the quality of education and child development, our daughter has since graduated and gone on to Kindergarten. She was not only well prepared for the new curriculum, she was actually ahead of the game. She had already learned to write all of her letters and was well acquainted with all the other subjects. Her teachers were clearly invested in her personally (especially Ms. Kelly) and she constantly wants us to go back for visits. All in all, we could not have asked for a better program for our child and plan to enroll our newest little girl as soon as we can.
