Five State Lookout

It is a pleasant place if you don't expect too much.nIt is essentially an expanded parking rest area with a great view. You actually can see the mountains of New Hampshire in the distance, as well as Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts.nIf you plan it as a simple day trip with this as a tailgating picnic mini party, it could make for a great get together.nI would suggest that the DOT administration put up an information board to explain the location, as there isn't anything there in the way of educational or informative information on site.

This is not a lookout. It is a hotel with a restaurant with a view. Otherwise you cannot see anything. Just enjoy the view as you drive by

It was simply a gorgeous rest stop where the fall foliage was visible as far as the eye can see. Great little stop if you're driving to or from the catskill mountains.
