Gio Culinary Studio

Gio is WONDERFUL! He helped me to organise a secret birthday cooking course for my boyfriend's 40th birthday with his friends. From my initial query through to the delivery of the actual course, Gio was consistently kind, flexible and considered. We had such a great time and the food we learned how to cook was SO TASTY! Overall, we just had fun and ate really great, homemade Italian food. I even got to make spaghetti from scratch. We are very keen to do something like this again... including in Tuscany!!

This is our second class at Gio's culinary school, and I'm so thrilled with the experience we just had.nnA year ago I took a class that left me with a fundamental understanding of how to correctly cook meat. This may sound simple to some, but when you're not an instinctive cook, this basic knowledge is hard to find in a cookbook, or a video. He taught us how to make a perfect steak; I'm not a red meat eater, but I was able to use his cooking technique in the other proteins I do cook- and they ALL turn out GREAT!nnChef Gio has a way of teaching that makes replicating his dishes foolproof... You get the ingredients printed out as soon as you walk in, and then you take notes, as he speaks his way through preparing the food. Above him are three large screens, showing you what he's doing. At any time you can ask questions, and he answers thoughtfully. I've never felt dumb for asking a question, and his answers make sense.nnTonight in our New York pizza class, I was again so impressed with the quality of the class and the deliciousness of the food he prepared. When I bit into the pizza he taught us how to make, I really felt like I was twenty something years old again, grabbing a slice at my favorite pizza place in Penn Station, while waiting for my train home to arrive. More importantly though, I know I can make this style of pizza myself at home.nnAfter taking cooking classes at other schools in the capital district, I don't think I'll spend my money any place but here. The facility is spotless and inviting, Chef Gio is so prepared, knowledgeable and welcoming; and most importantly, the food is DELICIOUS.

I've been to Gio culinary a few times already. Last week my company attended a team building cooking actively there. It was really fun and informative , everyone loved it! We are currently looking for some other dates so we can do it again!
