Wildwood Campground

Really enjoyed camping here. Beautiful fall colors in the area (stayed here the last weekend in September). Sites are well spaced out so you don't feel surrounded by neighbors. Our site was recently raked and the fire pit was clear/clean when we arrived. We had one of the closest sites to the road (site 2) but the highway is quiet during the evenings and we were not bothered by road noise. We did see that site 22 (a hike-in site) looked particularly nice as it's set down a slope from the campground road. We would try to reserve that one if available when we come back.

While the location with respect to the white mountains is good, 112 sees a lot of traffic and the campground is close to the road. 112 is often backed up heading east from the campground. There are no showers, but bathrooms are clean (pit toilets) and water faucets are very accessible. Caretaker is not friendly, but who cares. As others have mentioned, campsites are very close to each other and you must bring your own firewood. There are better campsites around, but during this covid era you take what you can get.

A good simple smaller campground. Three simple vault toilets, which were decently clean. There are scattered water faucets around the grounds. The campground itself was very quiet and got quite dark. You could hear the infrequent passing of vehicles on the adjacent highway throughout most the grounds, but it began to blend into the surroundings. Walkable access the small river across the road.

Had another awesome 10days!!! So much to do in The White mountains, National Forest!!! Thanks Bob n Carla our campground hosts...
