I personally love this place! What the NRD has done is pretty awesome. My only real problem is with the disrespectful people that go out there and trash the place!!! It's not that hard to pick up your garbage and the NRD provides nice picnic tables for us to use and enjoy not destroy!!! As far as I'm concerned the ones who do this should STRUNG-UP by their, well you know the rest of that thought.
Pleasant experience, beautiful scenery, and a good time with friends and family.
It's a good place and not to far from my place
The parking is wonderful lol. Not. It's what you would expect for a NRD. It gets trashed, and overfished. I wish they would throw a little money that way. It's great for a quick trip. It's a wired place to fish. With the risk of sounding stupid, they either hit or they don't. When they do don't leave! There's some cats in there!
If you want to watch a metor shower in middle of Nebraska this would be the place to be. There isnt a lot of light pollution from the nearby cities and you get a decent breeze off of the lake for an overnight campout. Only downside is no facilities and limited cell service, but aren't those positives?
