This park used to be amazing and peaceful, it was one of a kind. Now it's just like every other park in the TC area, littered with discarded candy and snack wrappers, juice boxes, pop cans/bottles, food and soiled diapers along the trail now. The dog owners letting their dogs run loose is also going to be a problem, a kid is going to get bitten by a loose dog here eventually. The off leash dog owners are not respectful or responsible and the parents are too busy on their phones instead of watching their kids.

This park and across the river combine to become the best spot in the area. Very easy to get lost in your thoughts back on the deer paths.nOwls, coyotes, foxes, deer, eagles, hawks, possum, beaver, mink, etc. Full of wildlife.nCan be crowded sometimes, but just jump on a deer path and it'll quiet down real fast.

They have redone the whole park. It's absolutely beautiful. Very well done. I've been coming there my whole life, I'm 42 yrs old, and it's never came close 2 looking as good as it does now

I love coming here. Ever since I was a child. A sweet little slice of wilderness in the middle of suburbia. I wish I could camp out on the little islands, these are great areas to look for rocks.

The Visitor Center is currently closed for covid-19 safety. One of the most unique parks in the Twin Cities. The only place you can walk across a dam on the Mississippi River's full length. Dam access & walkway are the main feature and trail areas follow along the river. New wide paved trails provide easy access, even for those with disabilities. Free Parking unlike the Anoka Cty. side.
