Great airport and very friendly air traffic controllers. This airport has a lot of history behind it and is a true gem. It’s in a great location near the city; located less than 5 miles from Downtown Detroit so you will be downtown in just minutes.nnNo airline service because the current runways are a little short, but great for corporate charter jet service and other General Aviation.nnThe airport itself is very safe, but it is located in the vicinity of a slightly dangerous, high crime area where you might not want to just walk around alone outside of the airport property especially after dark. All in all, this is a great airport and an asset to the city, don’t listen to the other negative reviews. The city better not close this airport! We use it and we want to see it be improved!

Yes! Still an airport in the city of Detroit - no airlines so it's great for general aviation!
