Home Services at The Home Depot

Was just told by an associate that there are no contractors in their network that can replace an exterior door and storm door. Not much of a home services network..that's a pretty basic job.

My husband and I decided to order new garage doors, and after checking out many companies, decided to go with the Home Depot because of their claims that they take care of everything. We went to this store to place our order, but they didn't have samples of the door for us to look at and were not very knowledgeable about the product. Our order was not placed in store, but online when we got home. We were contacted by the garage door manufacturer/installer the next day to set up for measurements. After not hearing anything after a week, and not seeing their online installation portal update, we called the Home Depot store, to follow up. When speaking with our installation contact, she informed us that they do not have any information, and that we would need to contact Clopay (the manufacturer/installer) for any further information about our install. After about 8 weeks, we finally got our doors installed. We were initially told the timing would be 4-6 weeks. The whole experience was not good to say the least, but the doors look really good. Now, we have a small installation issue, and the store said that we're on our own. We need to contact the installer again to resolve the problem.

This review is for the home depot installation services of the Joslyn rd store. Took 1 month to get a guy out to take measurements and forced me to take a day off work. The day of measurement no one called at all so I called them asking where they were at 1 pm since they were supposed to be in a window up to that time. Next the story changed to 11-3. At 2 i took my kids 1 mile up the rd to get drive thru mcdonalds foolishly thinking i would get a heads up call. What i got was a call telling me they were at my house. No problem i told them i would be there in under 5 minutes. I made it in 120 seconds and have the time stamp on my phone to prove it. They refused to wait 120 seconds for me. If being a prisoner in your own home and not even being allowed to use the bathroom is ok with you then you will love these jerks because i know people that cant get bathroom done in 120 seconds to answer the door. Customer service told me yup it happens and they will just leave. So again if thats what u call customer service shame on you home depot. My recommendation would be hey give a heads up call that you are on your way! And if someone needs 120 seconds? And you cant give it? Sad. By the way they charged me $30 for this visit which was just an initial measurement meeting. If this was indicative of the reat of their service i should actually thank them, because thats not service thats plain harassment. Linda whom i worked with on the phone said she would try try to refund me but might not go through and seriously tried to justify the measurement guys not waiting 120 seconds... really??? 120 seconds? Epic fail. Menards here i come.

Do not purchase flooring from this company. From the very start it was lies and we have had nothing but headache after headache from them with no resolution. STARTING FROM THE TIME you call them, they never have anyone answering the phone. The management has no clue what is going on and every single person you talk to tells you a different story. Im warning you run from them. You will regret every step of it.
