You cannot beat the view. SPECTACTULAR. My Tuna Poke was fabulous as was the wine selection. I had a wonderful Gruner. The staff very friendly and nice, but one suggestion is to have better fitting face masks. My server and runner, both had mask that were not secure around their nose. This made be a bit uncomfortable. I appreciate that they wanted the black and white masks to match their uniform shirts, but they appeared to be more of a public health risk. i am a bit COVID phobic and dining inside is scary on its own, but in New England its reality. Please get better facial coverings. We are not out of the woods with this pandemic.
The Cliff House never disappoints ! They do their best to keep everyone safe and still manage to provide the best resort experience on the seacoast !
Lovely views and beautiful atmosphere.nnUnfortunately, the bartenders at the restaurant, The Tiller are incredibly rude and slow. On a Friday night, off season, with a very low volume present, we waited at least 20 minutes for drinks. There was never any acknowledgement of our presence. Just walking by at a snail’s pace, looking miserable. Once we finally got service, it was cold and unwelcoming. Eye rolls were thrown. It felt like we were a burden. We had ordered drinks including one draft beer, which had finished the keg half way through the pour. Instead of offering to change the keg, he said “it’s out” and didn’t offer any alternate option. He moved on to make another person’s drink and came back 5 min later waiting for me to have made a decision, once again, cold as ice.nIt’s a shame that such a nice establishment should be tarnished by such poor service.
One of my favorite places to stay. However, I was very disappointed in their sparse Christmas decorations this year. In the past, all bannisters were beautifully draped with fresh greens. This year, only the center banner going down stairs had greens, with bows that were very small for such a grand location. Hopefully, next year decor will be a little more festive for Christmas by the Sea weekend! And PLEASE light the large fireplace at all hours during the weekends!
Amazing simply doesn't begin to describe this hotel/function venue. The views are spectacular, the staff is professional, friendly, fun and helpful. They went above and beyond for the wedding we attended. The food was first rate and plentiful. The drinks are definitely not your run of the mill bar selection, they are poured and made exactly the way you want. A great time was had by all. Thank you!
