We went on the Whale Watch cruise--a 40th Anniversary bucket-list item for us. It was very nice and the Biologist/Narrator was very well prepared and helpful. We didn't get the Pacific Life whale like in the commercial (*sad*), but we did see many Minke whales, some Seals, and even a Sea Turtle so it was well worth the admission price, which I would consider cheap even if we hadn't seen any whales or sea life at all; we learned a lot about the Harbor, the Ocean and Sea Life-they were very informative. I wish we could have stayed out longer.nThe cruise passed summer colonies, lighthouses, and small islands.nI would definitely do it again and recommend to anyone who might be thinking about it. It was especially nice on July 25, 2020 when we went because of the COVID regulations which cut the event size to 50. Normally, they can take 150 people on this cruise and I can't imagine how you would have a decent chance to move around and see the animals with that many people on board because you never knew which side or end of the ship the animals would appear and it was great to be able to move about at will to catch the views.
The boat and crew were fine and professional, but unless you are an avid birdwatcher, and don't mind waiting the whole time for a slight glimpse of a puffin located yards & yards away (barely visible) - or just want to go out for a boat ride - this tour should not be for you.
I get easily seasick but my wife has never been on a whale watching cruise. So that meant I had to go. The crew on this ship did an AWESOME job finding some whales and making sure everyone got to see them. I had been before and completely blew off the cruise thinking it would be a terible time of sea sickness and then we'd see a single whale pop up once and disappear.nnThis crew did not give up finding whales. I think we saw 3 separate species. We saw them all pretty close up and for more than just a glimpse. Good job guys.nnSaying all of that, I was still insanely sea sick but managed to not vomit, even though I wanted to.
Nice little cruise around the harbor cap'n was very informative
Nice place to take the boat to Cabbage Island. Great Day visiting the area!
