Andra's sweetness is compelling, and her personal knowledge of yoga for recovery means I'm guided by an experienced practitioner, not a newbie at a gym. I highly recommend this studio.

My plan is customized for my body and it’s needs. If I’m unsure how to do a pose, Andra is right there to explain and help. She also coaches us as we do our practice to improve our alignment so we achieve the optimum benefit.nEach of us starts where we are, no unrealistic expectations that we should be ahead of where our body allows us to be, our individual programs are designed to help us build strength and flexibility within the framework of what our body can do at that moment. Our plans will be modified as we gain strength, skill, balance, and flexibility.

Andra is the best yoga teacher in central Illinois. I say that because she creates an individualized plan for each student after assessing their physical capabilities and needs. You’re not doing the same thing as anyone else, you’re doing your own practice with her right there beside you all the way. She encourages all her students no matter what their physical condition, and everyone improves in amazing ways. She uses guided meditation at the end of class to help students learn to slow down and look at things (and themselves) from a more compassionate point of view.nnMy body has changed dramatically in the three years I’ve taken her classes. I started off taking class twice a week, but quickly saw that to make the changes I wanted to see I needed to come more often. So with a five-day-a-week practice, my body responded by losing weight, getting stronger, more flexible, and improved balance and posture. Nagging injuries healed, because I learned how to use my body so I didn’t keep re-injuring the joints.nnI lost 60 pounds, and that was with adding muscle all along the way. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in since I was in college when I was running daily, and I’m 57 now. My doctors are thrilled with my health markers, and I attribute a lot of that to my work with Andra. She encourages me to keep eating clean, and maintain healthy habits. I’m calmer and more accepting of my body’s limitations and get less frustrated when I can’t do a difficult pose. It all works together, there is no one magic bullet, but I wouldn’t have made the progress I did without this big piece.nnHighly recommended.

A s someone who had a habit of buying a membership and not using it, I have been consistently going to BBBY for two years - twice a week! My body, strength and health are significantly transformed...and the improvement continues! Andra is a gifted and patient instructor in all classes from Yin Yoga to Ashtanga Yoga to Core. Her classes are small so she can acquaint herself well with the abilities of each student. Poses are taught in a safe but challenging manner. I'm so blessed , physically and emotionally, by Andra's teaching. Give her a try! Your body will thank you!
