Review Visit: January 20th, 2021nnFaire Coffee has fair coffee at an even more fair price.nnIts not fair when a new coffeehouse opens up and I am not informed for a long time. Sometimes it can take a year or longer before I find out about a new place and that is with my being fairly vigilant in keeping up with this ever changing world. I only discovered that this place was open due to an article in the local paper. That article can be found here. I was pleasantly surprised to find a new coffeehouse to try that also had a 2nd location opening soon. It didn’t take me long to find the right time and the right person to drop in for a quick cup and some long chats.nnMaria and I arrived on a blustery Wednesday afternoon. We nearly froze (well, maybe our hands) as we wandered around looking for the place. At last, we spotted it and shuffled over to it as quickly as we could. Stepping inside, we were greeted with a blast of warm air and an even more warm welcome from the cashier. I knew I wanted something warm as my hands and face were freezing. Maria and I took a few moments of looking at the menu before ordering. I got a 16 oz drip coffee and she got some decaffeinated latte. My coffee was only $3 on the menu and that is what I was charged, so I am not sure if taxes are included in the menu price or what, but it was a pleasant surprise. I am not sure if they have only the one flavor for their drips as I didn’t see any kind of signage indicating what I was ordering or what I could order from.nnBefore Maria was done ordering her drink, I had mine in my hands and was using them to warm up my frozen fingers. As she was paying for her drink, I noticed a little box of pins for sale. They were only $1, so I snagged one. You can see it in the photos provided. We snagged a seat and proceeded to talk for awhile.nnMy drip coffee was pipping hot and took forever to cool down. It was about 30 minutes after I took a seat that I was able to start sipping the drip coffee. Even then, it took a little bit longer before I could actually take some swigs and taste the beverage. What I tasted wasn’t anything that assaulted my taste buds but also didn’t entirely excite them. It was a coffee without a flavor. Or if there was one, it was a bit hard for me to distinguish. I did enjoy it despite the lack of any distinct flavor, so take that as you will. Maria said she enjoyed her drink more than she expected but ended up saving the 2nd half of her drink for the next day.nnThey also had some pastries or baked items for purchase but I didn’t realize this until after I paid and tipped my change. That left me with less than what was needed and I try to avoid using my debit card at small businesses so they don’t have to pay any transaction fees. Those can add up fast from what I’ve been told over the years from visiting all these little places.nnThe interior was incredibly warm. I had to take my coat off after awhile as I started sweating and that was before I got to drinking my coffee. I get cold easily so it was nice to not freeze in a place. As for the decor, it was on par for what you expect for a coffeehouse. If you don’t know what that means, check thennI think it’s fair to say that Faire Coffee was a great stop despite lacking a bit of flavor in their drip coffee. I am hoping to try out their Washington location before too long.
