We did a 20+ mile overnight trip and parked our take out vehicle at E.R.C.R. the place was well kept with hand washing stations and a very knowledgeable staff that had great tips for fishing spots and camp sites. The fishing and camping did not disappoint! Loading your kayaks from the river to your vehicle could be better but you still have a safe place to park your ride.

Great time a couple weeks ago. First time with ERCR and first time on the Elk. Staff was friendly. My buddy and I did the 9-miler from Old Dam Ford to base. TVA had been releasing water all week, so the water level was perfect and the flow was swift. We made it in about 5.5 hours with a few stops and very little paddling. Hopefully heading back again this weekend to do the same trip. Finishing at base is nice because there's no waiting on a shuttle for a ride back...just as simple as pulling up on shore, walking up the path and hoping in the vehicle.

Very nice place, river was beautiful and the staff was super nice and friendly. I recommend everyone to come here and rent from them! 10/10 experience. Very reasonable prices as well.

The experience on the water was great of course. Friendly staff as expected. However I am rating 2 stars because after checking their website which supports wearing masks I was expecting to be around staff with masks (since they are now required!). When we came up to the window to pay they weren’t wearing a mask. The family in front of us was not wearing masks. Then we had to get in the van with the family (no masks) and the drivers who were not wearing masks. Then on the ride back they packed the van with 12 people some wearing masks, but most were not. And the drivers had the audacity to joke and say oh yea guess we should have worn ours masks.nI understand some people will say that we had a choice to not get in the van either time and you’re right, in retrospect I wish we had not gotten in the van. Since we have been staying home I will know if we got sick from this outing.
