As always this place is beautiful. We were able to see the horses being taken care of and walking the beach. The kids thought it was awesome. Be careful, your children will want horses! Use caution as there can be a lot of horse manure. Watch your steps. The roads can be rough on your vehicle so drive carefully. There can be a lot of puddles as well. Wear not play clothes.

Beautiful park with some great hiking trails. Campsites were beautiful but tight to the road. Lots of open wooded space behind though. Our site seemed like we were the only ones there except when someone came by on the road five feet away from the camper.

They cut down all the beautiful trees that made this place worth visiting. It’s just a basic beach now.

This place is worth the money to enter.nHowever attention to disrepair restrooms and a shower addition would be nice.

This will always be one of my favorite state parks. The road going to the campgrounds can be a little confusing, everything's one way and if you miss your spot you're going to have to go around the entire thing again. The decals for the camping sites are on the electrical boxes, not on the ground like at a lot of other parks, so at night can be a little tricky to figure out which lot is yours. But each campsite is really spacious, with a lot of beautiful sights. And there are a ton of restrooms so you don't have to walk far. Beach access could not be better and there are three different spots you can go to if you don't have a state park pass but you're camping. So you can go in the campground and go to the beach access or you can go over to the lighthouse area and do the lighthouse and the beach or you can go even further down south to the nature center and the southern beach and the island down there. Basically it's like 5 mi of beach it's wonderful. You will see a ton of animals while you're here. Deer, a lot of raccoons, squirrel s, birds of all kinds, and yeah a few snakes every now and then. Every time I've come here I've left knowing that there is still something I need to check out the next time I come. There's just that much to do. I do highly recommend the tour to Saint Phillips Island. It is so extremely worth it and you will most likely see dolphins on your way there and back. we didn't do it this trip but we did it the one before and like I said I cannot recommend that enough. The lighthouse is amazing, and beautiful, and so worth the trek to the top. Honestly as I'm sitting here I can't think of a single negative thing and have already planned my next trip And booked it. Oh I guess if I was going to say anything was a negative it's that it books up nonstop. If you're thinking about going and you see an opening, snag it.
