We are under a mandated stay at at home...I watched for 30min after midnight in Mossy Oaks while a Beaufort police officer had a conversation with someone in a parking lot that had nothing to do with getting home...it did continue beyond that time frame, but I was disappointed that the mandate isn't being enforced

Hey Beaufort PD, Can we please do something about the speed problem in the city of Beaufort? Carteret & Boundary streets in particular are problematic. Don’t see how the students of USCB ever safely cross Carteret....have spent 10+ minutes at the “it’s the law to stop for pedestrian” signs more often than not, just waiting to cross the street. Once a car stopped to allow me to cross in the crosswalk and the rest of the cars behind that car rear-ended and it was a pile up (Spring 2019). I appreciate you all Beaufort PD. Can we please remind ppl to s-l-o-w down &/or not tailgate? Thank you!

This is MY America!nThis is Beaufort Police Officer A. Turner going above and beyond his 'duties' today! I'm an inner city guy from Boston, my sense of 'Situational Awareness' is and always has been acute. I was leaving the Bi-Lo on my way to the car, I noticed this officer get out and walk to the side of the building where some homeless people tend to gather, being the nosy bastid that I am, I investigated. Nay-nay. Officer Turner saw this woman, that he didn't know, unloading a very full shopping cart, and he just went and helped her. Once I realized what I was witnessing, I was 'moved' by it, and I don't get moved easily or often. I spoke to him briefly, and praised him for this deed. Cops get such a bad (undeservedly) rap that I was compelled to snap this pic. I am going to contact the Chief of Police and the Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette newspapers as well.n******PLEASE help me to make this go VIRAL******
