After joining the workforce I didn't know the first thing about filing taxes.nnFor the three years I filed my taxes here, I fell into the bracket of being exempt from paying the Obama care penalty.nnYet for those three years they told me that I didn't fall into that bracket.nFor THREE YEARS I didn't get anything back from federal due to this.nnTheir fee each year went up by ten dollars.nI gave them $400 to cheat me out of thousands.nnLast year I filed for free online, and for the first time since I started working I got a federal return.

While looking for a place to get my Taxes done today since I'm new to the area and retired. My online search found a couple of places near me. One was a national firm and one was Hometown Tax. I first went to the national franchise and had them estimate my refund ( if any) they said I had about $800 but then there would be a $350 prep charge. I walked out. Then I went to hometown just down the road .Gerald estimated near $5000 with a reasonable fee. That's right over a $4000 dollar difference! Highly recommend. Plus Gerald was very kind and compassionate. Fully understood that not everyone has the means to pay high fees. Plus hengot me a $1500 cash advance...
