Interesting piece of history considering there is no gold in Oklahoma lol. You have to read the history posted at the site. No restrooms, no camping, no day tables, yet still an interesting place.
This is an odd historical landmark that's really not much to see. It's near Great Plains State Park, and is worth visiting if you're close by. It's the sparse remnants of a failed gold mine whose owner seems to have fooled investors into purchasing shares before the mine actually produced anything. Gold dust was literally shot into the walls of the mine to give the impression that the mine had potential to produce. The mine entrance is sealed off and all that remains of the foundation is the rock and concrete. No restrooms or any other facilities, just a dirt parking lot and a sign.
Interesting piece of Oklahoma history
Cool lil place to get out n stretch them legs. A taste of the old west. Grab a metal detector n spend a day diggn.
