This is a hidden trail, almost unmarked. There is just room for a few cars parking on the side of the highway. The parking is between the double bridges and the trail entrance is across the street from the parking.. there is a metal gate blocking the path, but you walk right around it.. there is a sign there too that warns the path isn't actively maintained.. The hike feels more secluded and less touristy because it isn't as maintained as other more popular trails or falls. You can get up real close to the falls. Once you get to the end where there is a great view of the falls, there are multiple large rocks you can climb on. If you turn right at the falls and climb up the hill you see a bridge, which ends up being unused railroad tracks. Its a little tricky to climb this part, and be careful there is a deep hole in the ground right as you cross under the tracks bridge, but if you keep going up , you can go right up to the falls and where the water pools and sit and have a snack or rest. No bathrooms. It was beautiful and a cool trail to do. Easy, unless you go up the hill past the tracks,, then just be more careful not to slip in muddy areas.

Staying in Tryon, NC; we wanted to visit a waterfall. With a 7 yo and adults with joint issues; I did not want anything super-strenuous. The reviews from others indicating where to park the car and how to find the entry gate were invaluable. This was a great trail, to hike and for photos as well. The falls are beautiful (we took the left fork). It was a little steeper getting from the trail onto the rocks to take pictures of the falls; but it was well worth it. The trail is well trodden and easy to follow. Lots of beautiful rock collections to take photos beside. Highly recommend for a quiet hike with few other travelers (not too much parking available on the side of the road). Really enjoyed this.

Absolutely incredible place. The hike is not incredibly hard but it is challenging. I would not let children or pets roam free here as there are plenty of precarious places near the edges of steep drop offs. The trail has three routes that go to the top middle and below middle sections. To go to the lower section is is quite steep and a workout for sure getting back out.

I was originate disappointed because I thought you could only see the falls from the road. If you continue up the mountain after seeing the falls, you'll see two pull offs that allow you to park and hike a trail that takes you right to the falls! I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting or local, standing at the base of them is beautiful (and muddy, so wear boots!)
