My family an i have been going here fore years. We have hiked , camped, canoed , an fished many times an had a great time. It is a little crowded in the peak season but the rest of the year is great. You can make reservations an come in at the nice campground dock. My friend's an i like the camp sites neer the dock. They are handicap friendly. They have plenty of firewood on site 3-5 dollars a night very worth it. If you happen to need a guide or camping buddy, i am available on sunny days. I have a canoe an a jonboat. Have fun an enjoy.

Was really looking forward to a relaxing trip. Met with unwelcoming hosts. Told that there was one other family visiting, yet we were placed directly beside them. In the pouring rain, drove to the outdoor dish washing area and was scolded by the host family for parking under the awning. Confused. Why have an awning if no one may use it. Ended up leaving two days early because of the ill treatment.

Fantastic camp site to stay at. Each camp site has a fire pit with grill, picnic bench and storage cupboard. No electricity. Sites are spaced adequately apart so you have your own privacy. Plenty of trees to hang up a hammock or two. The bathhouse is fairly new and has hot showers. There’s also an area to wash your dishes. The area is also patrolled by a camp host and rangers.

If you like to actually camp, don’t go here. There were paved culdesacs with drains like surburbia and if you like any sort of privacy (which is what i love when I’m in nature) then also don’t go here. This place has commoditized nature and has stripped it from any sort of profound value that nature has to offer.

This place has really come a long way over the years from when I was coming here as a child, definitely looks a lot better than it did. They have really upgraded the amenities, with a changing facility with showers and restrooms. They have a concession stand, kayak rentals and available life jackets. They do charge admission when lifeguards are on duty. Would definitely recommend.
