Rodanthe Watersports and Campground

Mike and Janet are wonderful hosts! The campground is cozy with nice bathhouse facilities and great restaurants next door. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend - put our beach chairs in the sand at water's edge and watched the kite boarders put on a great show. The sunsets are incredible as well. We will definitely go back!

We can’t wait to return! Thank you for the amazing family trip. The owners and staff are so nice and accommodating. It is hard not to relax here. Having the sound right on site and then the beach only a short walk away was incredible. When the ocean was too rough for our 5 year old, we were able to paddle around in the sound right next to our campsite. The lily pad mat, the hammocks, kayaks, outdoor showers - everything was so awesome! We came here to social distance vacation in our camper and it really was perfect. We will be back.

This is a small local campground that is a great value. I am a tent camper and spent 3 nights here and i highly recommend camping here. The bathroom and showers were very well maintained and the staff and owner are friendly and helpful. They have small charcoal grills available for use which is a nice addition. Right next door is a great pizza shop and also a very good coffee shop. Skip the big name campgrounds and stay here for a fraction of the price.

Mike is awesome. We drove out to OBX for a sailing weekend after my husband (Kate here) got back from a long deployment and our Sunfish rudder broke in the first minute of our first sail. Mike answered his phone after hours and arranged to meet us at the campsite on his day off. He replaced our rudder with one of his own parts that day and saved our sailing trip. He's extremely knowledgeable and we can't thank him enough for his kindness and generosity!

This is my heaven...but keep it a secret and only tell the people you know who would truly appreciate it. Once you go there, you'll see why I say this!
