Full hookup sites within steps to the ocean! They have sound side sites too. The campground is super clean with basketball hoop, tennis court, pond, dog area, corn hole set up, etc.nThe bathrooms were heated and had A/C. They were extremely clean! You could walk or bike to a few restaurants/cafe type places! Able to drive pretty much all over the outer banks from here. Highly recommend! We came for Spring break.... Aren't really any trees....so I'm not sure how hot it would be in the summer. But it was so nice to hear the waves crashing all day/night! There was seemed to be at least a breeze! Easy beach access areas, dog friendly, kid friendly, paved roads for riding bikes etc. They do not have fire pits but you can bring your own free standing above ground ones. The people working here were all super friendly!
My husband and I just returned from Camp Hatteras. The campground was very nice, fully paved and had put put, a nice dog park, playground for your little ones and fishing. I loved the campground and would go again but a little later in March may do you better weather wise. It was very windy and rained off/on during our stay. We rode our golf cart across the street to the North side but we actually stayed on the South side. The only flaws I found is that they should put a sign up on the South side stating “South Side “. You check in on the North Side and All Of the property amenities are on the North side. But if you’re staying on the south side, a word of advice-go ahead and get your camper in your camp site and walk/ride over to check in, because otherwise, you will be maneuvering through the north side for nothing, just to get your camper across the street. Then the other flaw is , the bathhouse is where the laundry room is but you wouldn’t know it for sure unless the front desk says anything. The bathhouse should have a sign on the building to let campers know. The campground is fully paved which I love. No grills and no fire pits. It’s very relaxing. I look forward to coming again. Let them know if you’re military or Good Sam. You get a 10% discount. I told them after I booked and they said I couldn’t get the discount because I didn’t let them know at reservation call.
Really nice campground! Pretty clean with very friendly staff. They have spots both on the beach and on the bay, no matter which side of the camp you are on its a pretty short walk to either the ocean or bay. All of their spaces are paved (some they were even freshly repaving while we were there) which is a huge plus to me! Their part of the beach is clean and well kept. There are trash dumpsters throughout the camp for easy access to throwing trash away. The dog park, playground and tennis courts seemed really nice. They have a pool near the entrance that we didn't get the chance to use, I do wish the pool was closer to the beach instead of directly next to the main road where cars drive by a lot. If you are walking the beach the public pier is a short walk from the campground. Overall we enjoyed our stay and while we were there we actually ended up booking sites to come back in a few months.
Stayed for a week at site #355 on the sound side mid June. A little tricky to back into if you're traveling solo, thankfully a fellow camper came over to help. The epic sunsets are on the sound side. I love how complete strangers gather to enjoy them together. In the mornings I would walk across the street to enjoy the sunrises on the beach. Quiet and friendly. Full hookups, paved and level. Sites are on the smaller side but everyone was so respectful of others that it was never an issue.
Great campground! All the roads are paved and the sites have concrete pads. We stayed on the ocean front by the pavilion. The site was very easy to back into and setup quickly. The weather wasn’t the best this weekend (2/26/2021 - 3/1/2021) with the rain and wind but it was still a great time to get away. The staff was very helpful when needed but with COVID it had to be from a distance.
