My husband and our 2 young children enjoyed an afternoon tour. The prices are extremely fair and the tour was only 30min which was perfect for our kids. The staff were friendly and the tour guy Amber was great. The Caverns were very neat and the gift shop was cute and quaint. Everything was reasonably priced and the bathrooms were clean. After the tour we walked over to the creek and played for awhile. We would definitely recommend Linville Caverns!
Be prepared. We got there at noon, and they were sold out for the day. Very disappointing after driving over an hour to get there (they do not sell advance tickets online). The little boy behind us was so upset that he couldn't get in.nBut while you're out that way, make sure that you have lunch in the cute cafe in Little Switzerland (that is an amazing drive up the mountain- very steep and curvy), and go see the art galleries and boutiques in Black Mountain.
It was fun times and cool things up there...
What a beautiful site. Walking through the caves is exciting. The tour guide was great giving so much information and history. Gift shop had cool stuff at reasonable prices. Good for the whole family.
Nice stop in Linville, you can't reserve tickets or entrance session online or in advance. Only groups of max 9 , but if you were a 12 people group like we were , you would need to split it in groups but the good thing was that there were spaces one after the next (10mins apart)so wasn't bad. We had to wait about 1.5hrs since we bought the tickets to go in, but time passes fast enjoying the river next to the shop and even more if you bring snacks for a picnic. Caves were good you will get some drops of water and you have a guide person explaining things.
