Friendly and hospitable owners, charming European setting, and delicious food and coffee ☕! Took us right back to our old home in Vienna, Austria. Macchiato was world-class, and croissants tasted like they had arrived fresh from Paris. Everything was done with class and fine taste. Well worth treating yourselves to. We'll be back!

Let me just start by saying that this is my favorite restaurant in Frederick. The food is amazing, the decor is exquisite and it takes you away to a French bistro. Whenever my wife and I come in Francis takes good care of us. We were blown away by his passion for doing things well. The first time we ate there, Francis went into detail of all the work and detail put into the place. He even gave us a tour of the B&B rooms upstairs. Whenever we have family come in town we visit and people are blown away. A treasured gem in Frederick.

Transported – not just to a different place, but to a different time, the moment I stepped into this bistro. I was just driving by, hoping to find something good for lunch, and this place caught my eye. I pulled over, read some reviews, looked at the menu, and am so glad I spent the sunny, late October afternoon here, lunching. I had the delectable homemade egg salad with fresh herbs on a flaky croissant and the lobster bisque soup and a glass of Bordeaux blanc. The tastes were so wonderful. The ambience was perfect: the music, the high windows and tiled floor, even down to a detail like the bartender’s apron. And to complete my escape to France this afternoon, I spoke at length with the proprietor and owner, chatting about the history of the building and the loving renovations he and his wife recently completed.nnWhen you’re yearning for an escape to France – or just somewhere else outside of your four walls - allow Up on Market to take you there!
