The history behind the furnace is interesting. The furnace itself is impressively large. But overall, it was a bit underwhelming. The front of the furnace is impressive, but if you walk around to the sides, it's obviously not as well maintained. There is a lot of trash, graffiti, and rubble. The furnace is good for a one time visit. The surrounding park and playground is more interesting.

Pretty sweet to be just driving by and seeing it! I thought it was an old fort at first. It still was interesting to me to read about it
