My wife and I feel very lucky to have found Beginnings Montessori. Our 6 year old son has absolutely thrived there and we feel this education in his formative years is so important to set him up for success. The teachers are very passionate, we believe in the Montessori method, and it’s the best educational value around. We could not recommend this school any more!
After a couple of decades living elsewhere, we returned to Western Maryland, specifically so that our kids could have the value of this unique approach to education. Everything about the experience - the teachers, the environment, the students - was exactly the right fit for our family. It was the best five years for our kids, and we hope that one day the school will expand to include middle and high school in this style, because the primary, kindergarten, and elementary experience for our kids is something they will take with them through their entire lifetime of learning. I should also mention that one of my children is on the autism spectrum, while the other is an accelerated learner. Because their brilliant teacher(s) treated them both with the perfect ratio of special attention / just like everyone else, they continue to thrive now in a larger public school environment.
My family was affiliated with Beginnings for many years as both of my children attended the Primary program and my son stayed through the Elementary program. The Montessori method flourishes at Beginnings and children of all abilities are given the support and encouragement they need to soar. High achievers are given the room they need to reach academic and intellectual levels that can't be matched in public schools and we have seen differently-abled learners find Beginnings to be a most effective launching pad. Beginnings Montessori is a lean organization, kept that way to ensure that tuition prices are reachable for families. Parents work together to support the mission of the school and create a place for all children to grow. Jessica Hook is a gifted and talented educator whose own intellectual curiosity creates a limitless environment for the children that she teaches.
Our family joined Beginnings Montessori 2 years ago with our 4 year old and 2.5 year old in the Primary class. The teachers here are like an extended family that love and encourage every student, and they are all accredited in the Montessori teaching method. I'm constantly amazed at what my kids know, how independent they are and the reasoned way they approach life. Beginnings also offers full-time, year round care which is a life saver for working parents.
