This place was perfect for taking our kids and ATVs. Super well-kept and maintained. The kids trails were a blast for my boys to buzz through right from the large camp site. Price was phenomenally cheap! Very peaceful camping because I think the place is under-utilized. (We were the only overnight campers). The trail loops off the main spur are varying types of terrain and some are nicely challenging. I loved the ability to rip around on my '84 200s with total freedom.

The picnic area is nice with many separate spots that include parking, a table, and a fire ring. However, I thought there was going to be a great view from the picnic area. Even when walking to the edge of the picnic area, the view still was not very great. I didn't think it was worth the drive up that road to get there.

I randomly stumbled upon this area one morning during the off season. It looks like a rather new place. There's ORV trails and a rock crawl course as well as ample parking, picnic tables, grills and great views. There's also a lot of historic places in the surrounding areas. I'm not sure what the regulations are for the trails and rock crawl course.

Not what I expected, but looks like a great place for ATV/Motocross riders. The main 'trail' is a gravel road that realistically any factory street legal vehicle could navigate in all but the worst weather. It's a very pretty drive through the woods, and for history buffs it intersects original sections of Braddock's Road (the first point at the Northern Terminus is worth visiting if you're into history). The camp grounds and restrooms are very clean/neat(and new). The rock course was a nice idea, but doesn't take a great deal of skill nor jacked up rigs; its a good place for beginners to learn on, or get a taste of crawling rocks before heading to places like Rausch Creek. If you're in the area it's worth a look-see, otherwise it's not worth a 3 hours trip in the 4x4 to drive it.

This is actually the brand new St. John’s Rock ORV Trail and Campground. The trails are open for motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-sides. No trucks on the trails (yet). There is a dedicated rock crawl for the Jeeps/trucks. The trails are quite rocky. Beginning riders may find them challenging. I suspect after they've been ridden on for a while, they may become easier. Parking is by reservation only. Daily-use fee is $9.
