Always Very Calming To Visit . The Marshes , Swamps , Wetlands & Wildlife Are Superb To Look At.
Great place to view wildlife
Watch out for alligators. There are no warning signs but alligators. Just watch your steps. Beautiful landscape and great wilderness.
The park provides a great, clear walking path with different loop routes to take. There are decent changes in elevation, some wildlife, and plenty of shade. Overall, there are no exceptional views but if you are looking to get out on a short hike this is the perfect spot. There is parking directly next to the trailhead.
Used to be alot better for hunting. Due to poor management and over crowding, deer numbers are down tremendously from what it used to be. I've hunted St. Catherine my entire life, and it's sad to see what it has become. They sell unlimited number of permits and allow everyone to shoot 8 deer per year. That's probably the most unethical management strategy one could come up with. I hope things change one day.
