Rivers End Campground & RV Park

We feel that this campground is unethical. We are traveling for a year and this was a stop we were very excited about. We checked in for our week stay, however on our last full day we received a call asking why we weren’t checked out yet. I had on my calendar we were there until the following day. They said no and had no available sites for us to stay in, so we needed to get out ASAP. We were on a tour bus in Savannah (beautiful city) and I said I would get there as soon as I could. By the time we got back to the park and loaded up it was 3. No one had checked in so we were relieved no one had to wait. Additionally we noticed 4 or 5 open spots in front of us (and they don’t pre-assign sites do we knew if someone did come in they wouldn’t have to wait, but we hurried!) Today I noticed they charged my credit card for an extra night. I called them and they refused to reverse the charge and were extremely rude. We were not told they were going to charge our card and it didn’t delay anyone from checking in (confirmed by them) and they didn’t miss out on any money. We left the site clean as well. We have stayed at 30 parks so far on our journey and this has never happened before. I am not saying it is their fault we got the dates confused, it was a simple human error and because it didn’t impact the anyone checking in, they didn’t lose any money and they didn’t notify us they were going to charge us for an additional night I believe this is an unethical business and we will never stay here again. Where’s the humanity people. It’s only $60, but the principal is worth a lot more.nnAfter reading their response below, not only are they unethical, they are liars. My husband was not informed we would be charged, as I am the one that went into the office to checkout. Additionally if you had to be so inconvenienced and had to comp a camper for a night because they couldn’t be near their friends why wouldn’t you have just put them in one of the open sites across from where we were and you also don’t assign sites so you never guarantee anyone can be near a friend. This is absurd! If you truly had to comp someone a night I would have understood the charge, but when we spoke yesterday you did not mention any of what you’re claiming now. After reading through your other one star reviews I am not the only person that has experienced situations similar to this. In one review you actually cancelled a reservation because of a hurricane and refused to return the campers deposit. If you’re not returning deposits when YOU cancel a reservation, I can’t imagine you returning unauthorized charges or anything of the like. Good luck to you. Eventually this will catch up to you. Right now you’re the only RV Park on Tybee so you have the monopoly. It’s gross, but hopefully another RV park will open around there and give people other options.

My family and I stayed at this campground, while visiting Tybee Island and Savannah! It is very nice and peaceful. The other campers were friendly as well. The staff was helpful with recommending good local food (Cockspur bar and grill right around the corner is a must). The bathrooms were extremely clean, I felt comfortable bathing my toddler in one!! SUPER close to Tybee Pier!Definitely would visit again!!!!

The staff there was incredibly accommodating over the phone during reservations and when we arrived. Had everything at the front counter waiting for us when we checked in. Escorted to our site by staff, and assisted us in lining up our rig perfectly. We Loved the place, definitely will be coming back !!!

You don't get to pick your site but it doesn't matter. This campsite is 2 blocks from walking to beach. Our site 66 was so close to restrooms/showers, office, laundry and fitness center. Called the after hours number for firewood and had it delivered in about 30 seconds! So clean and the oak and Palm trees are awesome on site. Staff was amazing. Walking distance to some shops and restaurants and to get back off the island. We had awesome weather for new years and hope to be back on April. Such a great experience!

Very nice park. Quirky sites, but large enough. Staff was pleasant, always saw some sort of improvement going on. Clean park. Paved road but gravel sites that are a little uneven. Town was wonderful to visit.. easy to social distance. I would return to this park!
