I am currently an 8th grade student at IMS it is a good school and it is easy to get help from teachers if you really try and the problem of bullying has not happened to me, you just need to be friends with the right kind of people.nHowever most of the kids use profanity and inappropriate language.

My daughter gets bullied at this school, and she says she asks for help but they do basically nothing and forget about it if it's not solved that day. And I thought there was not school today and then I get a message that my daughter skipped school? If you're gonna call me about that, at least do it with a real person.

My daughter is gonna be studying there plus she's new. I hope she doesn't get bullied first.

My son drew a picture of a guy with a gun........something I did myself at his age, countless times. So instead of calling me right away, they first have my son taken into “custodial custody” by the Sheriff, the sheriff asks him how many guns are in our home and what kind. He is basically interrogated with no lawyer, no parent present. This is a 12 year old kid, who has no idea the potential implications and consequences of things he might say if taken out of context by law enforcement. He could have faced expulsion, and legal, life-long legal repercussions if, in his ignorance/trust in police, had said something wrong. The fact they did all this with zero contact to us, his parents, is shocking......I have contacted a lawyer and am considering filing suit with these clowns. I understand in these times they needed to do SOMETHING to CTA, and I would have been OK with him talking to the school SRO, if they had contacted me first so a parent/adult was present. He was alone, in a room, being questioned by law enforcement.....when I asked him if he felt as if he was free to leave, he relied “no”. What this school did was not just immoral, after researching the legalities, it appears it may have been illegal.

I tried calling to get my son's transcripts sent to his new school, and the front line phone staff were rude. The woman interrupted me while I was trying to explain what I needed to ask me what my son's last name was, and when I started to spell it she stopped me after the first letter and just transfered me to a councilor without explaining what she was doing. Then, after leaving a message for the councilor, I never got a call back! I had to call back twice (with the same short and rude response from the front line phone staff), and I STILL haven't gotten a call. Not happy at all.
