I've been in this store a few times, being new to the area, I'm looking for a good hardware store. I will never go back after my experience this morning. Every time I've been there, there are several employees that don't wear a mask, even managers. This morning, when I asked 4 young men in the hot house room to mask up, one guy said he didn't even have a mask and when I walked away.. he coughed. I will go Tractor Supply, where all employees follow safety protocols. If they don't have what I want, I'll order from Lowe's online. Upper management REALLY needs to have meetings about positive customer experiences.
I live in Surry so I have to go across the ferry or to Smithfield for hardware. I have tried going down to Smithfield 3 times once they were closed during there normal hrs there was a sign on the door but I could not read it till I got there the other 2 times they did not have what I was looking for in stock. I will never be stupid enough to go there again.
Friendly service and a well stocked store. This Smithfield institution has served the community for many years. During the pandemic, they have taken their customers into consideration by doing curbside delivery and other safety measures. The store is well stocked and the sales people are helpful. Recommended.

They have a limited selection of most things but the people here are endlessly helpful. If they don't have exactly what you are looking for they will help you with what they do have. If they can't help you here they'll point you in the right direction to get your project started.
