This is the parking and start to the Great Channels of Virginia Trail! There are only 10 spots and when they fill up thats it. If you do not get a space and park along the road you will get ticketed and towed!
Nice, clean parking area. The Channels is an easy 6 mile round trip walk from here..
This is where you park to hike the Brumley Mountain Trail to the top of the mountain and to the Great Channels. The Great Channels are a rock formations that were created 200 million years ago by the glacier. This is a rock mase and the channels wonder all over. Not like anything I had ever seen before.
One of the many Natural Wonders here in Southwest Va, located on the county line of Russell & Washington Counties and you had better wear your hiking boots, its close enough to 4 miles one way that you will swear its 5.
This is the parking area to get to the channels. Follow the gravel road to the trailhead to start the first half of the 6.6 mile hike. It's a bit steep in parts but the views and rock formations we're definitely worth the trip.
